Depuis sa création en 2003, l'Association Saint-Martin Avenir & Développement a déjà eu l'occasion d'agir dans la zone Caraïbe comme ce fut le cas en Haïti en 2010 suite au tremblement de terre de triste mémoire, afin de permettre la rénovation de l'Hôpital Français de Port-au-Prince, action menée en partenariat avec la Fondation de France, ou plus récemment en 2016, après le passage du cyclone Matthew. 

Basée à Saint-Martin, l'ASMAD se mobilise cette fois encore afin de réunir des fonds qu'elle s'engage à redistribuer aux victimes et aux sinistrés les plus fragiles dont les maisons ont été détruites ou dévastées et qui se retrouvent dans le dénuement ou le besoin. Il s'agira d'aides concrètes pour l'achat de matériaux et/ou équipements de première nécessité indispensables pour leur permettre de s'organiser et de tenir le coup durant la période qui débute.

Mais, se reconstruire après le traumatisme passe aussi par la possibilité de reconstruire son habitat. Etudier, programmer et financer cette reconstruction est essentiel voire vital!

Dans les quartiers, des familles, des enfants, des parents auront besoin de l'aide de la société civile pour les accompagner dans la durée. Là aussi, les savoir faire de l'ASMAD seront utiles.

Les fonds récoltés lui permettront, sur le terrain et au plus près des besoins et des personnes, d'apporter des réponses et des aides concrètes.

Because the Northern islands of the Lesser Antilles are actually in the biggest distress after hurricane IRMA devastated them! Because this hurricane left behind it entire families that have lost everything! Because past the emergencies interventions and first essentials needs, rebuilding must be planned from now on! 

Since its creation in 2003, the Association Saint-Martin Avenir et Développement (Saint Martin Future and Development Association) already had the occasion to take action in the Caribbean area, like in Haiti in 2010 after the terrible earthquake we still sadly remember, in order to rebuild the French hospital of Port-au-Prince, action leaded with the partnership of the Foundation of France, or more recently in 2016, after hurricane Matthew.

 Based in Saint Martin, ASMAD mobilize this time again in order to collect founds that we commit to allocate to victims and the most precarious people which houses have been destroyed or devastated and that ended up in deprivation and need. It will consist in concrete help in order to buy first need materials and/or equipment essentials to allow them to organize them and hang on during the hard times that begins. 

But, start over after such a traumatism implies to have the opportunity to rebuild your home too. Study, plan and finance this rebuilding is essential, if not vital! In neighborhoods, families, children, parents will need help from civil society to care for them over time. On this point too, the expertise of ASMAD will be useful. Founds collected will allow ASMAD to bring answers and concrete helps, as closely as possible to needs and people, in the field. 

We might not wait. Let’s demonstrate our solidarity and generosity by collecting enough founds that will help the most precarious in getting over this step too. Let’s act from now on, let’s act with ASMAD!
