Our project:
This project aims to improve the conditions of education in the school of Ambaladingana (near Ambositra) in Madagascar. This school was built in 2013 by the association Fleur de Bitume and now has 155 children. The association also supports the school's pupils, i.e. 45 secondary school pupils, 7 high school pupils and, since this year, two students at the University of Fianarantso.

A double axis for the same objective, a better quality of life and an environmental concern! Our project will focus on a double implementation, a manual water pump in the valley in the centre of the village and the electrification of the school.
Where does this project come from?In 2020, the teacher, Madame Pierette, alerted the association: some children no longer go to school during periods of drought. Indeed, they help their parents by fetching water for the fields. As the river is far from the village, they spend a lot of time going back and forth to fetch water.
In 2021, access to water, already difficult, has become seriously complicated in recent years because of the different climatic variations. A drought that lasts abnormally and is also very severe. The country is severely affected by a famine crisis caused by these changes.
When we applied for permission to dig the well, the prefect encouraged us to continue with this project, which is all the more eagerly awaited since the repeated droughts.
The second objective is to bring light to the school in a sustainable way. During the winter months, it is difficult to study because of the short amount of sunlight. The classrooms are not equipped with light because there is no electricity in the village. The objective for us would be to help them to study in a better environment. To do this, the project is to install a solar panel as well as LED lighting that would best illuminate the classroom and the teacher's blackboard.

Why do we need your support?
This budget has been estimated after specifications have been drawn up on several sources of expenditure.
Your support is essential to help us pay for :
The material needed to carry out the project: the solar panels, the electrical system, the lighting system, the well, the hand pump.
The expertise needed for the project: hydrogeological engineers who will help us find the best place to dig the well and electricians who will give us their expertise on the whole system.
The technical means of the project: to drill the well we will need a drilling machine, to lay the pipes and trenches for the electrical system and various protections against damage to the equipment.
Logistical costs: transport of all equipment, materials and machinery from the capital to the village.
Our costs: transport, accommodation, food and security on site; without which as an M1 student this whole project would not have been possible.

The team is composed of three students in their 4th year of environmental engineering school. We all have a natural vocation to use our knowledge for a better world.
We have a common pillar from our education, the environment, but we have complementary backgrounds and skills.
Iksandar Leite Costa is the one who brought this team together for this project. Without him it would not have been possible. He is the oldest member of the association, having already participated in other Fleur de Bitume projects. He manages the team and the project in its general aspect.
Gabriel Kim is the one who looks for and manages partnerships. The setting up of content is one of his missions. He has technical skills that will be put to good use during the realisation of the project.
Youenn Kerdavid who will be the photographer of the team, he will also take care of the elaboration of the visuals published on the social networks, the video sequences and other digital contents.
Our vocation has as main goal the sustainable development and this project is part of it with a social, environmental and health component.
