WORKSHOP

WORKSHOP
We will start the day with an hour and a half warm up built upon the tools we use to generate movement in La Veronal in order to get the body and the mind ready and equipped to dive into the second part of the workshop where we will explore some of the company's repertoire.
BIO
I was born in Barcelona, and got my first dance education at Madó’s Dance School in my hometown near the city. In 2001 I moved to Switzerland to study at the École-Atelier Rudra Béjart in Lausanne. After dancing for Stadttheater Bern, I moved to Israel to join the Ensemble Batsheva. After that I danced with Israeli Inbal Pinto & Avshalom Pollak Dance Company.
I relocated to Barcelona in 2012 as a freelancer where I dance with La Veronal, teach Gaga internationally, and study psychology at the Catalonian Open University UOC. I am also an Ilan Lev certified practitioner.
In 2017 I received the Institut del Teatre choreographic award “Premi de Dansa Institut del teatre” for my work Moaré which premiered at Grec festival in Barcelona and received final nominations at the MAX awards, Premis de la Crítica and Premis Butaca. In 2019 I received the best female dancer award at Premis Butaca for my performance in Pasionaria from La Veronal.

WORKSHOP
Drawing from improvisational and somatic approaches, this workshop intends to create a safe space to research, experiment and allow ourselves to unleash our full potential by breaking away from ingrained movement patterns and destabilising habits. Maëva will invite you to work from a visceral place in order to achieve integrity, connectivity and totality within the body and within the space.
Authorising our bodies to be used as awakened, sensitive and connected vessels, a dialogue can be instilled between visible and invisible worlds. Tension and release. Conscious and unconscious choices. The shared tools and fundamentals will help dancers and non-dancers deeply reconnecting to their Mind and Body, experiencing mindfulness through Movement. These tools can enrich and reanimate any practice and can be applied to any movement technique or any type of performance work.
