Le Centre Artistique International Roy Hart (le CAIRH) est une association vouée à la transmission, au rayonnement et au développement du travail sur la Voix Humaine initié par Alfred Wolfsohn, Roy Hart et le Roy Hart Theatre.

Son siège est à Malérargues, imposant mas cévénol avec multiples dépendances et grande magnanerie. Depuis 1974 ce lieu a été investi et reconstruit par les membres du Roy Hart Theatre pour accueillir artistes, étudiants, pédagogues et curieux venus du monde entier pour approfondir et développer un travail unique, artistique et altruiste, sur la voix.

L’approche de la Voix Humaine, est un projet profondément humaniste, qui autorise et invite chaque personne à chanter la multiplicité des voix qu’elle porte en elle, et à les écouter comme autant d’aspects de sa personnalité. Elle a des applications non seulement dans le champ de l’art et du théâtre, mais aussi dans la vie quotidienne, par la reconnaissance qu’elle implique de la valeur intrinsèque de toutes nos voix, et de la vie qui s’y exprime.

Malérargues est aussi un lieu de création et de diffusion artistique et culturel à travers sa programmation théâtrale, philosophique et musicale, et un vivier d’artistes locaux et internationaux en pleine activité, porteur d’échanges riches avec le territoire et la population locale. Le CAIRH se donne pour mission d’être le gardien de Malérargues en tant que lieu de transmission, de partage, de ressource, de questionnement et de création de notre humanité, à travers l’exploration profonde de la voix.

Who are we?

The Château de Malérargues, occupied and renovated by the Roy Hart Theatre since 1974, today houses the Roy Hart International Artistic Centre (the CAIRH), whose mission is the transmission and development of the original research on the Human Voice pioneered by Alfred Wolfsohn, Roy Hart and the Roy Hart Theatre.

It welcomes artists, students, teachers and the curious from all over the world who wish to encounter this unique artistic and altruistic heritage, and deepen their understanding of how it engages us on a profoundly human level. This approach to the Human Voice authorizes and invites each person to sing the multiplicity of voices they carry within them, and to listen to them as aspects of their personality. It has applications not only in the field of art and theatre, but also in everyday life, through the recognition it implies of the intrinsic value of all our voices, and of the life expressed in them.

The CAIRH's mission is to be the guardian of Malérargues as a point of reference and resource for the transmission of the heritage of Wolfsohn, Hart and Roy Hart Theatre, and its expansion into the 21st century. Malerargues, through its infrastructure of indoor theatre, studios and outdoor performance spaces is also a magnet for artistic activity in varied forms: theatre, symposiums, concerts and less formal presentations from both local and international artists offer multiple meeting points with a public from the region and beyond.
