Junior Scientists Microbiology Meeting of Marseille

Éducation et formation

We are organizing the long-awaited 7th edition of the JSM3 conference in spring 2023 allowing young researchers of IM2B to present their work and create a community of scientifics from the South of France around the common interest for microbiology. We count on your participation !

Qui sommes-nous ?

Junior Scientists Microbiology Meeting of Marseille (JSM3) is an association created by a group of doctoral students of the University Aix-Marseille (AMU) in 2015. It was created with the aim of facilitating communication between the microbiology communities in Marseille.

The creation of Institute of Microbiology, Bioenergetics and Biotechnology (IM2B) in 2020, which expanded the original 4 institutes of the Mediterranean Institute of Microbiology in Marseille (IMM) to 10 laboratories spread from Marseille to Cadarache, has broadened the range of research topics and disciplines we wish to bring together, including oceanography, (bio-)chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, as well as computational and more biophysical disciplines. Thus JSM3 now brings together young microbiologists who belong to the newly formed IM2B community and aims to create new networks and collaborations by facilitating scientific interaction.

The organizing committee of the Junior Scientists Microbiology Meeting of Marseille (JSM3) 2022-2023 is composed of PhD students from different laboratories representing the interests of the majority of the laboratories of the Institute of Microbiology, Bioenergetics and Biotechnology (IM2B).

Our goals:

1 - To create a community of microbiologists in the South of France, specifically at IM2B, that represents us at the international level.

2 - To promote the creation of networks and interdisciplinary collaborations around microbiology, bioenergetics and biotechnologies.

3 - Communicate and disseminate research in the community

4 - Publicize the science and make it accessible to the community
