The Provence Academy https://provence-academy.com/ was founded in 2018.
The academy aims to promote creative structures that are committed to the development of new European ideas. It is dedicated to finding answers to the challenges of the 21st century through reflection on basic values, identities, and artistic and creative practices. To this end, the association supports the development of a thinker / artist community, committed to exchange and teaching. Central ideas are the critical questioning of industrial developments and the strengthening of human elements such as solidarity, diversity, sustainability, intellectual and creative innovation.
Despite the epidemic, we thought, that our ideas from 2018 to start a cultural center and educational institution was even more important the following years and for the future. Now, more than ever, we need a network to exchange our ideas, our fears, and hopes. And we need a place where we can meet, physically and hybrid.
CoArt which we organized, together with the Dora Maar house in Ménerbes in 2019 was a two-week collaborative event reflected on the impact of Covid on artist, and it was magic. Our book that includes a catalog and the texts written during this artist in residency, hosted by the Dora Maar house, is now available through any bookshop online or around your corner.
