Je soutiens le projet JamboMama! en faisant un don à l'association SAHFA

En se connectant à l’application, les futures mères enregistrent leurs données et répondent à des questionnaires médicaux. Elles reçoivent des informations et conseils adaptés au stade de leur grossesse. Le soignant a accès aux données médicales encryptées de chaque femme, et reçoit une alerte en cas d’enregistrement d’une donnée inhabituelle. 

L'application est lancée en 2019 sur un site-test de l’ouest de la Tanzanie  dans sa version simplifiée actuelle. Un  deuxième site sera ajouté en 2020. L'application sera améliorée et développée davantage grâce aux retours des utilisateurs actuels et ceux qui s'ajouteront en 2020. Mieux à même de répondre aux besoins de la population et des soignants, et plus utilisée, l’application   JamboMama! permettra à terme une réduction  de la mortalité materno-infantile  d'au moins 30 % sur la région puis sur les pays où elles sera progressivement mise en place.  Cette estimation est basée sur le suivi de la tension plus régulier, le contrôle de l'hémoglobine et la réduction des délais de décision de chercher de l'aide médicale due à l'ignorance des signes d'alerte. Sa prise en charge, une fois la femme arrivée à l'hôpital,  sera plus rapide, grâce à la connaissance de son dossier.

... "JamboMama!" est l'expression rurale en swahili pour saluer les femmes. Cela veut dire "Bonjour Maman" : n'est-ce pas la plus belle expression que peut entendre une femme qui vient d'accoucher ? 

JamboMama! is an interactive mobile application that connects pregnant women with the mother and child healthcare services. It organises pregnancy surveillance, gives alerts when it is time for an antenatal check-up, it asks questions and updates of vital data that enable the detection and prevention of vital risks for mother and child, thus avoiding untimely tiresome, expensive and dangerous trips to the health facility.

When she connects to the application (password protected) the expectant mother enters her data and answers medical questions. She receives information and advice related to the progress of her pregnancy. The certified, registered health workers have (password protected) access to the encrypted medical data of the registered women, and receive a warning if an unusual, out of safety range data has been entered by one of their patients.

In  2019 the application was introduced in Bunda, West-Tanzania, to which another site will be added  in 2020. The feedback of the test users will allow us to improve the concept of the application, fine-tune the buttons and prompts to make them more user-friendly. Sharpened up to respond really to the needs of the population and the healthcare staff and widely used, the JamboMama! app will contribute to a reduction of mother and child mortality of at least 30 % in the regions  where it will be  introduced. This is based on the regular monitoring of blood pressure and haemoglobin levels as well as a reduction of the three deadly delays is seeking medical help in pregnancy through both mother and health worker having better knowledge of the progress of her pregnancy. 

... ‘JamboMama!’ is a Swahili greeting common to address adult women in rural areas, meaning ‘hello mom’: isn’t that sweet to the ear when a woman has just given birth?
