UTMB Run for French Foundation for Rare Diseases
With most diseases, reliable and effective treatments are made possible by sufficient research, unfortunately, there are still many diseases that we are not able to treat properly due to a lack of understanding. I have decided to raise money for the French Foundation for Rare Diseases, which funds research endeavors for such unknown diseases, by running in the 2017 Ultra Trail Mont Blanc in the last week of August.
The UTMB® is considered the ultimate trail running event in the world. I will run the OCC around 56 km for about 3,500 metres of height gain. The race will start from Orsières, Switzerland and will finish at Chamonix, France.
To qualify, runners have to accumulate points by participating in multiple International Trail (ITRA) approved events. I've successfully qualified for the UTMB® by completing 30K Paris Eco Trail & 35 K Cappadocia Ultra Trail both in 2016. The most recent one I finished the 42K trail in Trans Gran Canari.
I've trained 4 times a week for the last four months to prepare for the UTMB ®under the supervision of my coach, David Jeker. I will continue my training until the event in August in order to adequately prepare for the race. I would greatly appreciate any donations to the French Foundation for Rare Diseases. Thank you for supporting me along this journey and improving the lives of those around the world.
