Every year, diarrhea causes children in developing countries to lose 272 million days of school due to absenteeism. The problem is primarily due to poor hygiene. In Vietnam alone, millions of children go to schools without adequate sanitation facilities, which allows disease to run rampant, resulting the students falling ill and missing days at school. The number of missed days at schools quickly compounds and erodes the students education. Without an effective education, the children will remain stuck in a vicious cycle of poverty. The Golden Throne program aims to alleviate this issue, by raising money to install toilets in Vietnamese schools across the country.
"Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself." (John Dewey)
So, let’s let the children live!
